User CP, edit options (under settings and options), cursor down to “messaging and notification,” Default thread subscription mode. ---

which one do I click off? is it the administration one? but then will you still be able to send me e-mails for my transgressions? 😉 ---

For about nine months or so I received no email notifications. Now, all of a sudden, it works again. Go figure. ---

There does seem to be a major email-related glitch here. No news yet, sorry to say. On a positive note, since there are no confirmation emails, no spammers. ---
