Lately, I’ve been noticing a ton of guests have been showing up in these parts to try out the boards for the first time. This usually happens around winter break and summer vacation, but recently it seems like an unusually high amount of guests have been posting, even for the winter break. This is a good thing, mind you. Just wondering if anyone else noticed. Hi Guests!! (And guests, give a shoutout if you read this thread.) this related to the google thing? ---

Just the other day I noticed that there seem to be a lot of new members: people who have signed up within the past month or two. I’ve noticed the increased number of guests, too. And I agree that they’re both good things! 🙂 ---

Now and the early summer have always been our times to pick up a lot of new faces. It’s not all students, but it does match up very well with school vacations. ---

I decided to do it because 1. Someone posted something to which I just had to respond 2. Nothing else to do but interact with the family (pass) 3} Figured it was about time to do so before I go back to lurking on Jan 9th Nothing to do with google here. ---

Than you for the greetiing, Uncommon Sense. I have been reading the Straight Dope online for about four years now, and had never looked at a message board until recently. I am serving in an overseas location and had to use a DOD network to connect to the internet. We were recently given a commercial connection, and my co-worker has been posting to several message boards, so I thought I would try it out. Nice place you got here, I hope to stick around. 🙂 ---

I, too, have been reading Cecil’s columns for a few years, but not until recently did I venture in to the messageboards. My take on messageboards up until now has been quite negative. I’ve ended up in huge arguments with people which resulted me in getting fed up with their better-than-you attitudes. Mind you, these were all music-boards. But, like I said, I really dig SDMB. No question is too dumb =) ---
