What the fuck with these threads:
“peeing with a tampon in–let me tell you about my girlfriend saying that her used tampon smells like urine”
“what’s your fetish–now we can all circle jerk”
“do you females negotiate powermuff and baldness?”
Maybe the 2nd one is me being a little TOO prudish, but really, this is embarrassing. If you are posting here, the assumption is that you respect mature discussion of mature topics.
Honestly that crap reads like a fucking Porkys movie.
(And turn down that rock n roll!)

The board seems to go through phases. At times the general tone seems to be almost sex obsessed while other times not so much. The best thing is that it’s usually really well labeled in the title so you can pass those posts on by. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy.

I moved to a new town less than a year ago and don’t have many friends here so I was trying to make myself feel better on my birthday. ☹ But fair enough.

Whew. Reading those sure did make up for my drop in maturity after reading one of the threads listed in the OP. Thanks.
Oh wait nevermind, I’m just delirious from the shocking, _shocking_ revelation that IMHO can have some really stupid topics sometimes.

But isn’t that the fucking point of this message board: that people talk about things that interest them or entertain them or make them feel better?
I’ve got no problem with your threads. I don’t care if you want to post stuff about April Fool’s jokes or whatever. Why do you care what other people talk about?

Easy solution to your complaint. Go to 4chan, spend about an hour reading a few of their forums (/b/ will be the most effective for our purposes), then head back here.
It won’t make the threads here at SDMB more mature, but it will sure as hell seem like it did.
