Are there any Dopers who are looking for the Aurora Australis?
I’m too far south to see the aurora here, but I did see it once when I was stationed in Scotland. We were under way, just off the coast, when the captain came on the 1MC to announce that there was a beautiful display going on – and to remind us that the weather decks were secured. I, of course, promptly went out the nearest door.

In NE MN. I’ve seen them a few times. The last time was probably 5-6 years ago, early in the morning when I was walking the dogs. I didn’t see them this time around - it was way too foggy and cloudy.
