I got a FB account when one of my real life friends emailed about something that one of my grandchildren did that I knew nothing about. All my “friends” are either family or friends IRL. ---

As neither of those things are true, I choose to error on the side of caution and endeavor to give Facebook as little information as possible. I really would prefer to have no contact with them in any way, but business realities compels me to have some minimal presence on the hated thing. ---

The only piece of information Facebook requires is an email address. And you gave them that when you signed up for the Business account. “Data” only exists on Facebook in a really nebulous way. It tracks your current city and your Likes, but those are optional and they can be faked if you truly feel like messing with the system. ---

Many of my friendships go all the way back to the 2nd grade. It’s not hard to keep track of the people I like. I have no pressing need to see pictures of other people’s family members on a regular basis. And by that I mean I DON’T want to see pictures of your vacation, grand kids, dog, or favorite TV show. Any picture or correspondence someone wants me to truly see arrives by email. I don’t have to lock it down or babysit it in any way. So while it might have some utility to it for me it’s not worth the bother to use it. ---
