We watched it obsessively (also Cold Case Files) the first year or so after we had our first child. She was not a good sleeper, so we’d be up at all hours watching. After she finally started sleeping better, we pretty much stopped watching. I think we got all “forensiced” out. They were good shows, but we packed a lot of viewing into that one year. 😛 ---

I love Forensic Files as well as Homicide Hunter. I was browsing Twitter the other day and saw, to my delight, that Kenda and his wife seem to be good friends with the actor who plays him, Carl Marino, and his wife. Lots of pictures of them on the set or out having dinner together. And whenever Kenda smiles, it’s kind of unnerving. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a nice smile and I’m sure it’s sincere, it’s just a startling contrast to the HH personality. ---

I’ve seen updates on some episodes, flashed at the end; usually, it’s about the death of an interviewee or other participant in the program, and I’ve seen a few updates where the “guilty” person was exonerated due to newly discovered evidence or updated ways of dealing with it. ---

Couldn’t you just see kids playing television and trying to say “gas chromatograph mass spectrometer”? 😛 I actually know what those are. I used one when I took organic chemistry. ---

I live _Forensic Files_. I used to watch these with **Orange Skinner** all the time. I think we have seen nearly every episode. ---

I also find those kinds of shows fascinating. My husband thinks it’s weird, because I refuse to watch violent TV shows and movies, I just can’t stand them. I am ok with these shows though, I guess because it’s the scientific approach to investigation that’s the focus, not the fear and suffering of the victim. I used to really like City Confidential too - that’s the one that was narrated by Paul Winfield. I’m not sure if those episodes are available anywhere, but if they are, I highly recommend them. ---

I always thought it was [Bill Kurtis from American Justice](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Kurtis). They sound very similar. When I was first married I watched Cold Case Files all the time and if my husband wasn’t home, I’d call him in a panic. “What are you wearing? That’s the first thing they ask if something happens and I don’t remember what you were wearing this morning. . .” “Honey, stop watching Cold Case Files.” We’d have that conversation about twice a week. ---

Another fan of Forensic Files and Homicide Hunter here; they’re perfect background TV, and happily, they’re some of the few programs that me, and both of my parents, can enjoying watching together when they visit. ---
