ETA2: (Sorry for the three posts in a row). Ah, yes, there’s also the Snaps is the name of the game chant to it I learned later, but I don’t think we incorporated that part of the game into ours. Come to think of it, though, I believe we did, but were never taught the meaning of the variations, or simply never used any of the variations.
I took me 4 rolls to figure out the dice game Planets Around The Sun, but it only took my friend Angelo 3. Most got it within 10 rolls. I think we had 2 that had to have it explained; they were never going to get it. This was in my 11th grade Physics class.
At least some engineers, when faced with a problem to solve, tend to discount whimsical or arbitrary possibilities - unless they’re specifically told to look for those.
