I usually mentally pronounce it “pull-ya-ka-mell,” which makes it sound like it’s a pun on “pull your camel.” I am always befuddled by **cuahtemoc**. I’ve gotten better at the mental pronunciation, which used to be something like “cua-te-may-hoc.” But I still can’t spell it; I had to do a search to even get it in this post. ---

Wow! I’m in the same thread with such stars of the 'dope as **Mangetout** and **TubaDiva**. And who says that goat sacrifices have seen their day eh? Pon-Ster does kinda sound like Porn-Star doesn’t it? But I’ll let CatJones decide the validity fo that ! ---

I still think **gatopescado** is pronounced gay-toe ess-ca-pee-doe. I don’t know why. I’m pretty sure **jarbabyj** is jar baby jay, but I still want to say jar babidge. I had no idea how to say **iampunha** , but somebody said it looked Portuguese, like I-am-poon-ya, so I’ll go with that. ---

Well, to tie this in, I have the same SDMB name and LJ name; however, my LJ name is all un-caps, **notwithoutrage**. Several people have thought that my name was **Not With Outrage**. ---

I’ve always read **Mangetout** as Mange Tout, and assumed it had to do with food. But then, I have some french training, so that’s natural. For **TubaDiva** , I’ve always read it as Tub Diver. And for **General Questions** , I always see it as _General_ Questions - a high ranking military officer with an unusual last name. ---

**Trigonal Planar** always gets an extra “a” in my head: Triagonal, like Diagonal. My brain always does this little urp as it tries to reconcile three dimensional corners in a plane. **TubaDiva** is “Tuber Diver” (one who swims after spuds?) \*\*mangeorge \*\* persistenly appears in my ears to have an extra “an”: Mange Orange (hey, he can hook up with Mange Tout for a feast of citrus!) ---

At least one person who has their name _usually_ spelled correctly instead of the wrong way I insist upon. 😉 **Mangetout** – I’m so sorry I made you explain yourself again. And here I thought I’d been around for a while and tried to keep up with the backstories, yet I missed it. Mea culpa. Also, I read **spingears** the same way you do. ::: sigh ::: **Marley23** – I have not even a remote guess on how to pronounce **cuahtemoc** (nor would I have been able to spell it unless hadn’t looked it up first), but I think I kinda start with “caught…” and just let it trail off from there. **yBeayf** – How do you say yours? I’ve always ready it as Y-Beafy?, but obviously due to spelling alone, that ain’t right. HELP! **Knowed Out** – I’m glad you brought **gatopescado** up. Isn’t there another Doper named **gotpasswords** or something like that? So, I already probably get them confused. But when I don’t, I usually think of along the same line as the dairy ads: “Got Milk?” and rather it’s “Got Pescado?” Which must be some really fancy cuisine. 😃 **WhyNot** – Everytime I see **Trigonal Planar** , it comes across as “Triangle Planner” and I always wonder about why someone would need to plan for those things. ---
