Anyone feeling buyers remorse about Obama yet?

Yep. And they cancel out. Hence, shit.

Perhaps we might revisit this question after the President for Life Amendment passes?

I think he’s doing a reasonably good job.

But concerning Republican obstructionists, tea baggers, and BP et al, I’d really like to see him get pissed off more.

Kinda like that BaROCK sketch on SNL early in his presidency.

No, you don’t have to tell us GPS coordinates and candlepower estimates. Just give us a few names.

I must have missed the second 9/11. Understandably, I guess, since I get all my news from the MSM and you know how they’re in the tank for Obama.

The only one I remember slobbering over Obama like that was Liberal, and he had a tendency towards hyperbole anyways.

No, I don’t think the guy’s perfect, nor do I regret voting for him. And Jack Kelly has always been a horse’s ass.

No regrets here. I believe Obama is smart, fair and honorable. I don’t always agree with him, but I think we’re headed in the right direction. I can’t tell you what a refreshing change this is from the previous 8 years.

And every day I thank jeebus that Sarah Palin is not a heartbeat away from the Oval Office.

There was at least one other poster I remember that was really caught up in all the hype and hero-worship. Most of the lefties here, though, simply saw him as the significantly better option IIRC.

I personally don’t regret voting for Obama. I don’t agree with everything he’s done, but I know that I’d agree with McCain, or probably any Republican, far less.

I bet if McCain dies in the next 3 years, you won’t see many more threads asking if anybody regrets voting for Obama.

I don’t think Obama has lost very many supporters. The people who are against Obama now were against him two years ago.

He’s not perfect but he’s doing as well as I expected him to.

Had to guess, I would guess that those rare Obamaniacs are more likely to have such remorse, since they had no realistic expectations of what he could accomplish, even without the impediments he faces. Frankly, given our situation, anybody who doesn’t preside over a total meltdown walks on water.

Absolutely 100% agree. They assume that everyone reveres their own leadership the same way as they do. I don’t think all Republicans think like this, but the moron-radio circuit certainly works overtime spinning this meme into talking-point gold.

So you’re admitting that Obama is not a U.S. citizen because he was born in Galillee?

He’s done fine, a little better than I expected (I didn’t think he’d get HCR through), and he’ll be reelected in a walk. He’s been consistently around 50% in his approval ratings for months. He’s fine. He will have no competition in '12.

No, its because he can’t swim.

And it’s statements like these that prompted me to offer the bet I did, which you scoffed at.

Aside from his pretty shitty record on civil rights, he’s doing a great job. The stimulus bill is a huge accomplishment. So is healthcare (after decades of trying). We may even get significant financial regulations. DADT is on its way out. Student loan reform. It’s really a pretty amazing first couple of years. I give him B.

And that’s without considering the alternative. So nice to have a grown-up in charge.

In fairness, everybody scoffed at your bet.

Whoa. I didn’t know that and am quite surprised, given, as you note, your well-known general policy and party preferences. If you explained the reasons you felt this way in a post previously on the boards, could you link me to it? (And if not, would you mind explaining what it was that influenced your vote? Just curious.)

It was your insistence on getting 15-1 odds that caused people to decline your bet.
