Feeling frustrated with electronic form-letters, I wonder if anyone is even reading my electronic applications, cover letters, etc. So, I ask…has anyone been successful in finding a new job from a company website or jobboard website? It seems so useless… - Jinx ---

I’ve gotten most of my jobs from monster or hotjobs. Sometimes it helps to email the address listed in the posting with a Word copy of your resume, if they don’t say they won’t take those. All the HR/recruiter types I’ve spoken to hate reading resumes from Monster/Hotjobs because they’re… well, hard to read. ---

My husband just landed a great job thru Monster - it was posted by an agency. He emailed his resume and cover letter, had a 5-hour interview, and a month later, he had the job. ---

I’ve never gotten a job directly from a web site, but most of the recruiters who eventually got me my jobs got my name from [monster.com](http://monster.com) or [hotjobs.com](http://hotjobs.com). ---

The last 5 jobs I’ve had I found through websites. But not Monster or Hotjobs. Typically either [washingtonpost.com](http://washingtonpost.com) or some specialized ones for my industry. ---

Yep, the one I am in now, got it on Monster. I actually found it, they didn’t find me ! Ok, now they’re laying my group off this summer, but hey, it was a huge company I wanted to work for… ---

I found my current job through a website. It wasn’t [Monster.com](http://Monster.com) or [Careerbuilder.com](http://Careerbuilder.com), but rather the hospital’s own website. ---
