The best thing about this whole morning has been Danny Baker’s tweets. Some examples: _This queue isn’t moving. Why don’t they just open another turnstile? Just saw leader of Everton council._ _Still about 100 yards from Abbey door. Told to have our ID ready. Everyone seems to have passports. I’ve brought gas bill._ _Jan Molby shooting across to hot dog kiosk over Square. Do I want anything? Is there time?_ _Just about inside Abbey now. Apologise to wife. She was right about this suit - can’t see another replica England shirt anywhere._ _Abbey is absolutely FREEZING. Can hear crowd outside singing Abba songs. Just caught Peter Kay’s eye and now we’ve both got giggles._ _Nobody seems to know what to do now, we’re just milling about outside Abbey. Think Paul Daniels has his car. Might get lift to reception._ ---

It was weird when I got the job and realised I could see the window of the room in which I was born. I felt I’d come full circle and would then expire. From the office I did once see an old lady in Buckingham Palace gardens, walking some corgis. Not sure if it was actually her maj… But I’d swap for the weather in Savannah, assuming that’s where you are. ---

Everyone in the pub here is drinking champagne as the landlord was very clever and did a “half off a bottle of Laurent Perrier with two fry-ups” deal. I think most people in the room feel faintly embarrassed to be watching but also really into the whole pomp and spectacle thing, although there are two royalists with union flags who tried (and failed :)) to start a round of applause at the “man and wife” bit. ---

Some of our grocery stores carry British import foods, and we used to have a Marks & Spencer here. It’s been cool and rainy here all spring, it seems, highest we’ve gotten so far is about 13 degrees. Ooh… check out the Google doodle! ---
