# Anyone got a great quote about swords?

**BMalion**  
The WWII M-1 rifle was a 30:06 and it did have a bayonet.

I can think of two, neither sword-related:

Upon seeing his troops:

“I don’t know if they terrify the enemy, but by God they terrify me.”  
The French ambassadors turned their backs on him at a reception:

“No harm. I have seen their backs before.”

Or the quintessential:

“Publish and be damned!”
