I concur with missdavis about rescuing a dog from a shelter/pound. Unless your intentions are to be a breeder, and trust me when I tell you breeding dogs ain’t no picnic or a road to riches, then there is no point in beleiving your dog has to be a pure bred animal. The point of a pet to me is 1) a companion 2) a defense against intruders. That’s why I like pit bulls. They are very loyal and they look scary. Although, sadly I must admit with bull dogs they may look scary to an intruder but I often wonder would my dog just show the a-hole where everything in the house is as long as you pet him. oh well, hopefully the sight of him is all it takes. BTW- The pounds are full of pure bred dogs. Recently I’ve noticed a large influx of Rottweilers at the animal shelters I visit. I am a pit bull rescuer for my own personal reasons, but I do my part. I know someone that breeds pugs and english bulldogs and from what I understand they suffer from a lot of the same problems, although english bull dogs are by far higher maintence animals and have a higher occurence of health problems. Rescue a dog! You’ll feel good about it and you’ll save a life.
