# Anyone have a dash-cam?

The other day, I ran across a review on dash-mounted cameras like the Russian’s commonly have in their cars in the videos they post on U-Tube. One model was recommended by the guys from Mythbusters and it was US$60. so I decided to order one. It will be about C$70 delivered. Do I need it? Well, not really but it sounds neat so I bought it. The drawback is the standard international shipping from China takes 3-4 weeks but I’m not in a hurry.

Now all I have to do is wait for a meteorite strike or a moose in the road and I’ll be able to show you the photos. I anticipate some difficulty in aiming the camera (attached to the car) at the meteor strike but it might work. 😃

With any luck you can capture some events like the ones I have been inspecting the past few days on YouTube. Some blood-curdling ones like [Brutal Car Accidents 4 [18+ Only] (Do not Watch )](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SY94Qd3iddg) (and others in that series).

Unfortunately as with most things in life you get what you pay for, and the small CCD cameras don’t work well at night. I am using a mid-range camera (cost $100) right now but I’m going to upgrade to the MiVue camera soon.

Watching the Russian car crash videos you see the MiVue get the best low light video.
