We have a 10YO daughter (she’ll be 11 in a couple of weeks). She likes to read. She _loves_ the _Diary of a Wimpy Kid_ series, and has started reading _Harry Potter_. She’s pretty geeky. Hubby found a copy of the first book in _The Ratbridge Chronicles_ at a price he felt like he couldn’t pass up, so he bought it for her for Christmas.

Who is familiar with this? What do you think of the accessibility/readability/writing style? Anything about you actively _dislike_? I just want to know what to expect.
