‘Goes Berserk’?! :eek: Please tell me we’re not headed toward a ‘Maximum Overdrive’ scenario thanks to NASA in the near future…Somehow the thought of having pilotless planes developing homicidal urges and flinging themselves at hapless people on the ground just rubs me the wrong way 😉 ---

The model planes are used to research algorithms to recover from unusual attitudes and aerodynamic related system faults such as stuck or floating control surfaces. It’s better to crash a $200k model 757 in a failed experiment, than do the same thing with the real one we have that has a crew of 20… ---

So **vunderbob** , we’re all waiting to hear the secret of the _Mythbusters_ blast boxes. To me they look like welded angle-iron with Lexan sheets attached. Am I warm? ---

Inch and a quarter Lexan, mounted in aluminum frames, held together with pin joints. Each panel weighs about 150 lbs. Panels built in-house by M5 Industries, which is Jamie’s special effects company.
