See the film "Schultze gets the Blues". It’s about Zydeco music, not the Blues.
Les Blanc’s also made fine films on Blues, Cajun, Polka & Tejano music. And you can buy them, too.
This band played at my cousin’s ordination last year: L’Angelus, and I fell in love with them. I love zydeco anyway, but they were just amazing.

I love zydeco. My current favorite band is *Little Brian and the Zydeco Travelers *.
If you ever have the chance to see them live you will have an awesome time.
If anyone in the Pittsburgh area wants to dance, there are bands at the Bulgarian-Macedonian National Education and Cultural Center (BMNECC) in West Homestead near Pittsburgh. They have a 30 or 45 minute dance lesson, then the band plays for a few hours. http://www.southwind-pa.com/pghcajun.html
Laissez les bon temps rouler!!
We have a local band, Mel Melton and the Wicked Mojos, who do mostly zydeco. It’s a ton of fun.
I was introduced to zydeco ages ago by way of Queen Ida. I don’t have much beyond her stuff but it is good. I do have a Beausoleil CD that I enjoy but Queen Ida is the Queen for me. I haven’t added anything for ages but will have to look into the suggestions made on this thread.
RedRoses, you should have known that the incredible group of fellow Dopers would have something to say on the subject.
