# Anyone sell a domain? Sell it at auction? Experiences?

We have some domains we would like to sell. I’ve heard of domain auctions.

Anyone have experience with this? What services do you recommend?

I helped a friend of mine sell a domain name for fairly large amount of money. We did it ourselves because a buyer came to him. He had a lawyer to receive the money and give him the go-ahead to transfer the domain name.

The domain was registered on [NameCheap.com](http://NameCheap.com). I had the buyer create a [NameCheap.com](http://NameCheap.com) account early in the process, then when the lawyer said the payment was good I just transferred the domain from friend’s NameCheap account to buyer’s NameCheap account.

You can even steal domains as the owner of sex .com found out.
