A few months ago, I posted a thread about possibly doing a 14er in Colorado. Now that the time is uncomfortably near, and I’m a slack-ass bastard, I’m finally starting to get this thing together. The plans have changed somewhat. Due to the fact that those in my hiking club who are interested in going have kind of gotten out of shape lately, we’re just going to camp nearby a good fishing lake in SW Colorado (I open for suggestions here) and do some day hiking (probably _not_ a 14er) from there. If you’re interested in attending, please let me know which weekend works best for you - 8/11 (only 1 week away) or 8/18. If I can get a total of at least 4 people interested, from both my hiking club and from here, then I’ll make detailed plans real quick and send them out to all interested parties. We’re planning to make a 3-day weekend of it, so also please let me know if you’d rather take off Friday or Monday. ---

Also wanted to add email notification to this thread. Even if you can’t make the trip, please feel free to offer suggestions on any good camping/fishing/hiking locales you know of in SW Colorado. (Alpine, where are you?) ---

I’m not saying there will be no _chance_ of sex on this trip, just not with anyone showing up so far. Now, if the right people show up, this can change. ---

There’s a place called Grand Mesa in west central Colorado just east of Grand Junction. There’s dozens of fishable lakes (they’re stocked), many of which that you can only get to by hiking or 4-wheeling. The weather’s temperate, from highs in the low 80’s this time of year to lows in the 50’s. Reply if you have more questions. ---

Thanks, **AWB**. Right now I have my eye on Vallecito Reservoir by Durango in the Needle Mountains (a little bit closer to us Arizonans). I’ll make my final decision tomorrow when I get the pertinent information from my friend. **Bear\_nenno** , we’ll swing by Tampa and pick you up on the way. 😃 **Anyone who’s actually thinking of showing up** , I’m changing the date of the campout to the weekend of 8/18 so I and the rest of the group have more time to prepare.
