Can’t he do both? After all, there’s no law against…oh wait, there is!

Shouldn’t there be an **https://** in the URL and a little padlock thingie in the status bar? And I always get the same robot-proofing security image (CF52H) at the bottom of the page no matter how many times I close & reopen the page. Isn’t that supposed to be a randomly generated character string?

Here’s an insight. Guy posts a link to his site. He asks the question of the message board at large, “Anyone think this is real?” Keep in mind that the guy who owns the site is the guy who posted the link.

I think it is an insightful observation to calculate that there is a _very_ low likelihood that the owner of the website needs the opinions of anyone else on the question of whether the site is real or bogus.

Seems this giblee posts and runs on various message boards. A quick Google turns up a few posts of the “Is this site for real?” variety. As others have posted, I rather think that he should know if his site is for real or not, and is just phrasing his posts that way in a clumsy effort to appear not connected with it.

The use of “frames” buggers up the display of the padlock. Try checking for a security certificate (if you are using Explorer, left click then select “properties”, then select “certificates”.)

If the paypal page on which the credit card info is given is in fact a paypal page, then no, he will not receive the credit card information. Paypal will receive the credit card information so that it can handle the transaction, but it will not pass it on to him. All he will get is the funds.

Maybe someone should foward the OP’s URL to [this website,](http://www.ic3.gov/) and ask them if they think it is real.

> What a shame. If the guy actually begged for TOWELS (not money) and hosted pictures of his “Towel Rack Of Fame”, etc…it could have been something.

Or sold the piss-stained towels as original art.

“Why would I pay money for something my three-year-old could do at home?”
