# Anyone tried tripping on the herb salvia divinorum? What was it like?

Most of the experiences here have centered around smoking it… to my understanding, the traditional use of it is in fact chewing it as a quid. If I had a growing plant, I’d be strongly tempted to hold a ball of it in my cheek, moistened with a bit of vodkal. I understand the experience comes on more slowly which may be overall more agreeable. The people who chew a quid swear by it.

I respect the “natural way.” Maybe someday. The Salvia didn’t like winter, so now I’m nursing the plant back to health that really suffered indoors over the winter from dry air, mites, etc. I’m taking cuttings too. They’re touchy in a dry climate.
