# Anyone tried Vonage VoIP service?  How was it?

This looks too good to be true:

Unlimited calling in the U.S. and Canada for $25 a month, plus insanely cheap international rates ($0.03 a minute to the U.K.? Right now I can’t call from Chicago to northern Indiana for that!). I use my cell phone now for long-distance, but many people (including my increasingly deaf grandmother) have complained about the sound quality, plus reception while in my house frankly sucks. This sounds like it could be a great alternative, and cheaper than my current landline (which I also use for DSL).

Has anyone ever tried this or something similar? What were your experiences? What other questions should I be asking?

I was talking to a business associate who is using it. The voice quality isn’t all that great. I thought it sounded worse than talking to someone on a cell phone.
