I know this is WAY in advance, but I wanted to make sure that everyone who wanted to would have time to save up money and get time off work, as well as perhaps work out carpools and hotel-room sharing. Anyway. Well. The weekend of August 4-6, Satan will be up in Columbus visiting me. I figured that would be the perfect time to hold a DopeFest, seeing as how we’d both love to meet (or see again, as the case may be) a lot of the Dopers in surrounding states. I’ve already asked around about this, and gotten a decent response, so I figured I’ll make a go of it, if anyone else is up for it. I live near Ohio State’s campus, so here are some nearby hotels. Well, all my plans are soft until a few days beforehand, so I’m gonna be a maybe, but I’ll keep my eyes on the planning, and you can probably expect to see me as long nothing ground breaking comes up. Although I expect to have alot of changes upcoming, so we’ll wait and see. ---

I hate to change your plans now, but I wanted to remind you that I’ll be driving through the midwest on my way from Minneapolis down here to Sanibel, and my time schedule’s flexible enough that I could make it up to Columbus for a day or two. My plan is to drive from Minneapolis to St. Louis, see relatives for 3-5 days, drive to Cincinnati, stay about 2-3 days and see friends, and then drive down here. The thing is, I can’t pin down exact dates for a while. The whole thing depends on when my grandparents are moving down from Minneapolis - see, I’ve bought Grandpa’s Celica, and will be driving it down with some of their stuff, with my mom and uncle. But we don’t know exactly when all this can take place, and Mom wouldn’t be too happy sitting around in a hotel in Cincinnati or Columbus for 5 days just to wait for the weekend. I can tell you that this will probably be occuring mid to late July, so if I need to be in Columbus on a weekend, it’d be the 15th or 22nd. If that’s doable for anyone, let me know, and I will do whatever I can in my power to be in Cincinnati/Columbus at that date. But no promises for the moment, OK? I’ll know more by the end of June after I return from France. ---
