There you go again. Truth is I learned a long time ago that people can claim to be anything they want on the Internet. I don’t believe you have nearly the income you claim. I don’t believe you are really a tax lawyer although I believe you may work in a tax law office as an administrative assistant or paralegal. With your ego if you were REALLY a tax lawyer you’d be claiming to be freakin’ Roni Lynn Deutch. If you really had money you wouldn’t feel the need to lord it over everyone that made less, you’d probably do what everyone else I know that has money does and be real low ley about it. Where’s **Fallen Angel** been for the last 9 years? Her join date says “2000” but I don’t remember seeing that username be an Objectivist asshole before (I actually don’t remember that username _at all_, actually). I was going to call her selfish then remembered that that’s a compliment for Objectivists. ---

I’m pretty sure **Rand Rover** will not be paying any of my health insurance anytime soon, thank you very much. But if that did come to pass, why should I give a rat’s ass what someone who has repeatedly demonstrated himself to be one of the most selfish pricks on the planet thinks about it? ---

Fallen Angel again started posting in mid-2008. Doesn’t take a lot of thinking to figure out why that poster stopped participating. **Fallen Angel** has racked up a **substantial** amount of posts since returning to life in 2008. ---

It’s _easily_ the most popular thing the Canadian government has done in 142 years of business. ---

Also, all good little capitalists should be in favor of getting our health care through the government. American companies are finding it harder and harder to compete in a world marketplace where they have to shoulder a huge additional burden (health benefits) that foreign companies do not. WHY DO YOU HATE AMERICA, PEOPLE WHO ARE AGAINST SOCIALIZED MEDICINE? IS IT BECAUSE YOU HATE OUR FREEDOM? Firefighting was always a civic matter, not business. On the other hand, healthcare and insurance started out private, so it’s become a sacred cow. It’s not status quo, it’s the government actively moving into an area they weren’t in before. Course, it’s my opinion that healthcare insurance is something that shouldn’t be in the hands of private businesses, same as any sector where a desire for profit is in conflict with the service or product. So I’m all for it. ---

I understand the objection to government health care. Seems like there’s too many ways for that to go wrong. Government health insurance, though, seems like a great idea. Even if I’m an asshole, and don’t care about the toll in human suffering, I still need the proles to show up for work, and be healthy enough to do the dirty nasty crap I don’t want to. It doesn’t matter how great the architecht is if the builders are too sickly to be able to do the work to build the structure after all. Oh, and **RR** , I certainly could use a Zeppelin, with all asorted facilities. Danke. ---

One of their big arguments against a public option (or single-payer, for that matter) is “government bureaucrats will determine what medical help you can have.” Well…isn’t that what we have now? Except that it’s corporate bureaucrats determining what medical help you can have based on their profit margin. It seems to me that being denied medical care because a corporate beancounter decided that it would cost them a couple of dollars in profit that quarter is worse. Government bureaucrats at least don’t have to line their pockets by mining your suffering. ---

Since you’re offering, I’d like the trip to Hawaii, then Indonesia, Mecca, and the Kremlin- all the places where the Dark Lord spent his youth. And why in hell do I have to pay taxes so that Medicare can enable a bunch of old farts to “die with dignity”? Cost of cancer treatment for seniors: can run hundreds of thousands of dollars. Cost of a cyanide capsule: $1.00. Same with all those uninsured unmarried women having babies- I don’t think any thinking person believes in abortion, but where’s the sin in baptizing and smothering them once they get here? Katrina- do I own a fucking home in New Orleans or Mississippi that nobody’s told me about? Cause if I don’t, fuck 'em! I shouldn’t have to pay to rebuild shit! And the cops— I’m law abiding and well armed, I don’t need cops to come arrest me and if someone breaks in I’ll cap their ass, why should I have to pay taxes so that some asshole can pull me over because I’m speeding and make me pay a $75 ticket that you know is going straight into the “[Kill a Maw-Maw for Obamaw](http://chattahbox.com/us/2009/07/09/victoria-jackson-posts-ridiculous-anti-obama-rant/)” fund! And those fucking courts- number one I can usually look at somebody and tell if he’s guilty (is he accused? what color is he? there’s your answer!) and number two if it’s a violent crime shouldn’t it be the victim’s family who settles it? Why should I have to pay for it? I think we should have pay as you go cafeteria taxes. So, if I use the Federal Interstate system, I’ll give someone a couple of bucks, and if I should call the cops I’ll give 'em $5 (extra if they help me move the body) and if I have a tornado wipe out my neighborhood then I’ll pay you $500 or so and you give it back to me as $50,000 in home repair aid. That’s just fair. And it’s what Jesus would have wanted. (He said “The poor you will have with you always”- if that’s not an enthusiastic embracing of laissez faire freemarket economics and “fuck welfare” endorsement I don’t know what is.)
