AFTER I got out of the hospital (blacking out on the bus, etc), I was eligible for Medicaid – but apparently that was only until my bills were paid off. When I re-applied, I was denied. ☹ So no, I’m NOT on Medicaid now. And THAT was, god, over two years ago. (I can’t remember the exact date). Okay? That’s it. _sigh_ Now then, about UHC – what about Medicare? Why are we able to take care of the elderly…but no one else? ---

I don’t know exactly how things are where she lives, but here in southern California, even McJobs are almost impossible to come by right now. Garden variety retail positions paying minimum wage are attracting hundreds of applicants, and folks are still getting laid off or having their hours cut as employers trim staff to ride out the crisis. I know a few people who have lost their jobs in the past six months, and despite applying for literally everything they might qualify for, have still been unable to find work. There are times when almost anyone who really wants a job can get one; this is not one of those times.
