Anything else you motherfuckers need?

I love the inherent assumption that when you take away the taxes, enough people will still pay for necessary social services out of the goodness of their libertarian hearts that they’ll continue to function. In reality, people in general are mean I-got-mine types when they can get away with it. Give them the option to keep their money and they will, especially when they don’t comprehend exactly what their taxes pay for, and the average layman these days is educated for shit.

Get rid of mandatory taxation and the United States will just disappear. We’ll be lucky to work with anything larger than townships.

Oh, you have not, either. My extended family is full of conservatives, and none of them are as looney-tunes as some of the crap being spouted off in this thread, and none of them are out stocking up on ammo, either. You’re so full of shit!

“Compress a mass that resists being compressed” – hee!

I’m going to bed. When I start finding this kind of thing to be hilarious, it’s probably a sign that I’m sleep-deprived. You keep right on fighting the good fight, Crafter_Man! Show the Internet who’s boss!

Glad to hear you’re willing to murder people in the name of allowing them to die from disease. How’s the view from the moral high ground look?

One thing I know for sure, on this subject you will not convince others, perhaps among your friends you will sound convincing, but since the evidence is not on your side I will have to say that your time will be more effectively used on other efforts.

How about a deal: You guys keep the guns, we get health care.
If you think carefully you will realize that those items are related. I do think that the lack of health care (the mental kind) has been a factor in many recent mass shootings.

Food is vital. But I do not have a right to food. If I have a right to food, why the hell am I paying for it?

I don’t have a right to anything material or tangible. And with the exception of an attorney, I don’t have a right to any personal service. If I believed I had a right to something material or tangible, it would require me to take ownership of someone else’s property, which is a concept I believe is evil.

Did you read what I posted, or just the last line? I suspect the latter.

This man has given of himself to society more than I could ever hope to, saving hundreds of lives through his skill (I don’t what to reveal his specialty as I am merely borrowing his experience, but he has had a direct impact on not only the residents of the area but the entire country). If anyone deserves to be able to not worry about medical bills, it is this man. But, due to a rigid doctrine, he clings to a belief system that is directly contradictory to his own well being and that of his family.

That is not admirable, but pitiable. I still hope that some day he will have an epiphany like Wendell Potter did.

So?

I’ll believe that when you lay down your guns.

Why do you have the right to an attorney, of all things?

So why do you hate America?

So what you people are arguing is that if the mob wants something from me, whether it be my property or my life, they get to have it because might is right.

So the militiamen at Concord were murderers?

No one is going fight w/ arms over socialized medicine. But the socialists won’t stop; they will keep pushing. It will eventually reach a point, perhaps a decade or two from now, where they have “crossed a line” with millions of U.S. citizens who think I like do.

Pretty much. Only in America as it is today, the mob is much politer than it would be in a libertarian society.

I hate this game- I never win at non sequiturs. Oh well… I’ll give it a shot:

So why do you think the Illuminati murdered Princess Diana and Elvis?

I wasn’t aware that the American Revolution was fought over the right to deny medical treatment to the poor.

Let me clarify. When I said, “I don’t have a right to anything material or tangible,” I meant that I don’t have a right to force someone to give me their property. I *bought *my guns… I did not force someone to give me theirs.

I would never deny medical treatment for the poor.

If a poor person wants a car, I believe they should be free to work hard and buy one. If a poor person wants medical insurance, I believe they should be free to work hard and buy it.

What about those who cannot work?

Hey, thanks! A week in Hawaii would be great. I accept your offer.

I hate to break it to you, but there are only about eight US citizens who think you like do.

There are millions of US citizens who think overthrowing the US government is a good idea, but most of them are white supremacists/separatists, black separatists, Mexican/Latino separatists, actual socialists*, communists, anarchists, anarcho-syndicalists, fringe environmentalists, Christian separatists/Identity types, Islamic separatists, Texan nationalists…

I don’t know what you call yourself, but if your revolution ever comes (and is successful, which is frankly a bit of a stretch), you’ll be trading one government you don’t like for dozens.

That is, if the Canadians don’t look at the shattered remains of our once-great nation and decide they could do with a bit more territory. The irony, of course, would be delicious, but I sense it might be lost on you- and hockey is fucking boring.

*as opposed to the people you think are socialists, who aren’t.
