# AOL 8.0 & Win2K - A match made in hell

Howyadoin,

I’m doing some renovation on a Dell Inspiron 7500 for a friend. Everything’s cool except for his (ecch) AOL connection. I can’t do anything that needs to use IE (IE6, BTW), I keep getting DNS failures. Can’t ping domains either. I’ve un-and-reinstalled AOL 8 and reinstalled IE6. I guessing the winsock got hosed somehow? Anybody have any experience with this particular shotgun wedding?
