KT- English jazz pianist Keith Tippett played on three King Crimson albums (***In the Wake of ***Poseidon, Lizard and Islands), but turned down several requests by Robert Fripp to become a full-time member of the band.
KU = Karl Urban, actor known for playing Eomer in LOTR, Julius Caesar in Xena: Warrior Princess, Judge Dredd in Dredd and Bones in the new Star Trek series of movies. A native New Zealander, his first acting role came at age eight, when he had a single line in one episode of the New Zealand television series Pioneer Woman.
KV- Kurt Vonnegut was one of the first staff writers hired by the newly formed Sports Illustrated magazine, in 1954. Vonnegut knew little about sports and cared less, but came highly recommended as a talented writer.
His first assignment was to come up with funny, clever captions for sports-themed photographs. The first photo in his stack showed a thoroughbred racehorse who had tossed his jockey, jumped over the track railing, and taken off running.
Vonnegut stared at the photo for half an hour, typed one sentence, turned in his work, and immediately quit his job.
The only thing he ever wrote for*** Sports Illustrated***: “A horse jumped over a fucking fence.”
KW - King Wenceslas
Good King Wenceslas was a tenth-century Bohemian duke (not a king, though there was a King W. a few centuries later) who was widely known for his piety and charity. He was acclaimed as a martyr and saint from shortly after his death. The Holy Roman emperor Otto I posthumously granted him the title of King, and in the fifteenth century, Pope Pius II affirmed the truth of his legend. The song we know was written in the mid-1800s.
KX - The Missouri band King’s X was ranked #83 on VH1’s all-time greatest artists of Hard Rock.
Their other-worldly lyrics led many people to classify them as “Christian Rockers,” but they have always rejected that label.
KY = Kristi Yamaguchi, Olympic Gold Medalist. She also played Jasmine in Aladdin on Ice, and won the sixth season of Dancing with the Stars.

LB = Lima Beans
Lima beans were first cultivated in South America going back as far as 2000 BC. When the beans were first shipped to Europe, they often came in box crates labeled “Lima, Peru.” The name stuck, correct pronunciation not withstanding.
LC = Library of Congress, the largest library in the world. When the British burned the core collection in the War of 1812, Congress purchased Thomas Jefferson’s personal library of some 3,000 volumes to start over.
LD- Peter Allen created and starred in the Broadway musical Legs Diamond, based on the life of a notorious Irish-American bootlegger and gangster. The show was an epic flop.
