Well, in one sense, they were already honored: Supposedly, the series Junkyard Wars was inspired by the scene in **Apollo 13** where they threw all the available parts on the table and told the engineers to come up with something that would work. A young TV producer saw it, and thought it would make a cool show.

It’s an honor, of a sort.
