# Apologies to JillGat

If you were refering to _my_ posts in this [thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?threadid=87522) I apologize if you or anyone else was offended. I took the thread to be a **hypothetical** solution (albeit a ridiculious one, IMHO) to escape from skyscrapers _in general_. This combination caused my answers to be flip but in **no way** reflect my feelings or make reference to the awful events surrounding the WTC _specifically_.

Well, I didn’t interpret it as a slam at anybody in particular, WG, just that the whole subject was still kinda raw, and also that those kinds of semi-serious GQ threads tend to get out of hand pretty fast.

Especially the ones on Saturday nights.

Any minute there’d be a reference to Peter Pan…

I’d probably have locked it, too, sort of a general “feh” reaction.

Thanks, DDG, I got that. And I didn’t feel slammed. But I, clearly, was in the wrong frame of mind to be posting then/there and was offering a sincere, humble apology.  
My position stands, but I’m not afraid to say I might have been wrong.
