# App failure with iOS 8, anyone?

I recently updated my iPad to iOS 8, then 8.02. Many of my apps have updated as well. Things are going generally well, and 8.02 has fixed some problems I had with 8.
One app, however, failed. I paid $29.99 for the app, so I contacted the app developer. He was apologetic and promised a fix within a week. But he also mentioned disappointment in Apple, blaming them for breaking his app.
So, what’s the deal? Doesn’t Apple release their new OS to app developers to try? Is this guy’s disappointment justified?

Yes, Apple releases beta versions of upcoming OS releases to developers. The beta for iOS8 was released to developers months ago. They have had time to update their apps for new release.
Major operating system upgrades occasionally break older applications - things change. This is true of every operating system that has ever been on any system you can think of.
Unless he has more specific reasons for being disappointed, no, it’s not justified.
