This makes me quite happy. I’m always pleased when the dipshits of the world are self-marginalizing, given a platform. This is why the Canadian Alliance stands no hope in hell of getting anywhere in federal politics in Canada. They’re the California Republicans of the Great White North. ---

And you can’t deny that it’s the Alliance which, federally, has been leading the charge against gay rights. If you’re so firmly opposed to statements of some Alliance members regarding gay rights, perhaps you should consider switching parties. But honestly, though what’s-his-jowls’ statements are on the outer edge of what we usually hear from the CCRAP party, they’re not exactly diametrically opposed. ---

The former leader of the Alliance is a nut-bar, the only time you see a news story about someone in the Alliance is when they have said something sexist, racist or homophobic, and it’s generally a big mess of a party. Listen, I’m in Alberta, and Ginger used to be - Alliance grand central. My parents support the Alliance fully, and my personal member of parliment is Art Hanger (what is it about the wacky Alliance names - Art Hanger, Inky Spot - odd). I’m surrounded by Alliance members every day of my life - sorry, but the party is dominated by crack pots. I’m sure there are some good members out there, they’re just few and far between. ---

Yes, I am aware that the Alliance is leading the fight against same-sex marriage, which to me is unfortunate. But **matt\_mcl** I’m not going to change parties because a crackpot exists and is also a member. When I said that people are against some things, that was my way of saying that I’m FOR same-sex rights, but I do support other things that the Alliance party is working towards. Do you agree with every policy of the NDP? **alice\_in\_wonderland** I also agree with you that Mr. Day wasn’t the most effective leader of the Alliance. Hence, I didn’t vote for him in the leadership campaign. Strange how that happens. And I’m _sure_ that we’re not only on the news when we say something like that. Sexist or racist? Can you provide cites for these? Last thing I remember the Alliance being in the news for is trying to get the new Liberal leader to have fixed election dates. Hmm, where can people slot that? Is it sexist? No. Racist? No. Homophobic? No. Well, there’s my cite. ---

You’re absolutely correct **Grey** , there are idiots all over the place. However, when doing idiotic things, Alliance members seem to get more noteriety for sexist, racist, homophobic things than other parties. This is not to say that other parties don’t have idiot members on these topics, just that the Alliance seems to have more. Many, many more.
