The OP’s stepfather has obviously gone to an extreme but the [US Supreme Court is currently debating the merits of Affirmitive Action](http://www.iowastatedaily.com/vnews/display.v/ART/2003/05/22/3ecc3e89c8f38). What they are debating was brought on by a pair of prospective University of Michigan Law School, those students felt the university discrimiated against them because of their skin color. They’re white. ---

They’re white. \*\* **Jeff Olsen** , I don’t think anybody in this thread has talked about affirmitive action (whether it is good or bad). Sure, if the center in which the OP works only accepts a small number of whites (i.e. uses some sort of affirmitive action), then this would case would be relevant. I’ve never heard of SCORE! (or whatever the center’s name is) but it sounds like the center is a walk-in “I need help” center. If so, affirmitive action doesn’t enter into the picture. ---

It is this kind of stuff that keeps a lot of the white racist going. That is, the basic concept among many that only white people can be racist, and it is ok to intentionally offend them.
