Apparently saying "all lives matter" is racist according to a BLM's co-founder.

I’m saying that, given anyone who (a) claims to believe that all lives matter; and, (b) if asked whether that means “all lives, including black lives, matter” – which is already literally true, but, sure, let’s get express clarification – will agree that, yes, “all lives matter” means “all lives, including black lives, matter”…

…well, what more can I plausibly ask? If you don’t find him believable, then you presumably still won’t find him believable if he says that black lives matter, right? It seems like you didn’t believe him when he said that all lives matter; like you don’t believe him when he says that all lives – including black lives – matter; I’d go 3-for-3 on taking him at his word, but why would you suddenly take him seriously?

Well, yeah; I wouldn’t expect them to publicly disagree with the belief that all lives, including black lives, matter. Still, there’s this:

Again, trusting sort that I am, I’ll presumably believe you: just relay to me how folks express the sentiment that all lives matter, and then helpfully clarify that they of course don’t mean to imply that they’re including black lives when they talk that way, because that would just be crazy, and, hey. all apologies if you inferred that.

This thread has enough contentiousness in it without turning to personal insults. That way lies the Pit. Let’s leave it out of here.

“Yes, they do.” is also a good response to this. Unless the statement was in response to “Black lives matter”, in which case a slap with a fish should accompany “Yes they do.”
