Just spent some time on a friend’s FB page where both he and another friend were moaning about how the Democrats are insulting Trump and claiming that the Republicans never treated Obama that way. :rolleyes:
Moron FoF demands citations for my claims, dismisses them, claims “most” Democrats and even Obama support rioting, can’t provide any citations for this at all, continues to claim it and then says my eyes are closed because I didn’t believe him. :smack::smack::smack:
Another friend had told me yesterday that one of his oldest friends (in an IRL conversation) was making this claim as well.
I’d bet money some Right wing media people are pushing the idea and their base is eating it up and repeating it.

Well, the media surrey trump put out seems to imply that Repubs never treated Obama badly, and if they had, surely the media would have called that out, the way they are not calling Democrats treating Trump badly.

Here’s the actual question:
Do you believe that if Republicans were obstructing Obama like Democrats are doing to President Trump, the mainstream media would attack Republicans?

This is your cite that the new thing is to claim that the Republicans never insulted Obama? A couple of guys on your friend’s FB page? Are you fucking kidding me? I’d lay good money that no mainstream Republican source has ever claimed any such thing.

Republicans also moan that Dems are really not nice for obstructing Trump, when they NEVER EVER did so for Obama.

Maybe they figure that game is up, time to adapt and adopt. Maybe they figure that with an absolutely solid base of dedicated voters, a bit of gerrymandering and voter suppression tactics, they can hammer together a machine that gets them re-elected.
Such a strategy would depend that their base remains unified and energized, and the portion of the population that remained uninterested did not change, they can work the mechanics of politics so that a minority can dominate. They will depend on the Apathy Party to maintain its grip on roughly 40% of eligible population.
'Course, maybe trying to discern their strategic planning is kinda dumb if they don’t actually have one, if they are improvising, making it up as they go along.
