It is, after all, Jar Jar’s fault that Palpatine is in the position to become emperor. Jar Jar was the one that introduced the bill giving him war powers first place. Jar Jar’s assasination would a relevant and important plot point. But then again, were Jar Jar to have been killed onscreen, the ensuing demonstration by me in the theater would have mortally embarrassed AuntieRojelio and resulted in a nasty divorce. So, despite having raped my childhood, Lucas probably saved my marriage by leaving that scene out. ---

I’m glad Jar-jar wasn’t killed off - he cracked me up. I never quite understood why he annoyed so many people, and yet the bad/stiff acting didn’t seem to bother many people (even in the original trilogy). However, it _was_ basically his fault that the galaxy got taken over by the Sith. ---

I was surprised at how relieved I was that even though Jar Jar was in ROTS he didn’t have any lines. Then when AOTC was on the other night and he did have lines…what an annoyance. ---

It seems to me that any death should involve having his eye stalks ripped off. By hand. And then his tongue ripped out. By hand. ---

I think Lucas didn’t kill JarJar for precisely this reason. Lucas LIKES JarJar. He thinks the character was a good idea. He can’t really understand why the public hates him. He probably had some serious character arc and noble death scene in mind for him but couldn’t do it because the crowd would cheer. ---

Hey, I kept on wanting him to at least say something in III, I mean it was so obviously him, as he was in the Entourage back in II. I Inquired on why he didnt speak, my step dad was like “No one likes him”. As if that was reason enough ---

First rule of slash: if you can think of a slash story, it’s already been written. I was satisfied with Jar-Jar’s role in the second movie. Seeing the intergalactic Forrest Gump bring death, destruction, and agony to the universe – instead of just the audience – is exactly what I would have expected. And I was satisfied with his role in the third movie, because it wasn’t a speaking one. ---
