I like to watch youtube through Apple TV. A few weeks ago, they did an upgrade and now youtube looks quite different and behaves differently, too.

I’ve mastered a couple of the basics, but one item looks permanently changed. You used to be able to “skip ad” by pressing a forward-jump button on the remote, but now that’s not working the way it used to. There’s still a greyed-out “skip ad” button when a commercial starts playing, but nothing I’ve tried actually skips over the ad.

Is this intentional, and now one must always watch ads? Or did they just make the ad-skipping function harder to find?
