The fruit. I just finished putting Jonagolds (my preference) and Granny Smiths (my husband’s favorite) on the shopping list.

Wow, you’re so right! My mental apple is a red delicious, even though we actively avoid them. They are the bopple of last resort. Fuji or Gala (neither of which look remotely like a red delicious) are what we actually buy.
I thought of Dale, from “King of the Hill”, telling Hank what kind of apple he was eating, from a snippet of the show I saw while flipping through the channels the other night.
I thought of the fruit, Red Delicious to be specific. I’m also one who has pretty much replaced “Apple” with “Mac” so the computer didn’t even enter my mind.

I thought of the fruit and had a hunch/hope that it might be a call for naming one’s favorite variety, or else to name as many varieties as one could.
Now I’ll see what others have said after submitting this first.

I thought of the computer company first, but I’d just come from the pit thread. And then I thought that no one refers to Macs as “Apples,” so maybe you were refering to the fruit.

I thought of computers first, then questioned whether the thread would be about computers or fruit, decided the subject would be something regarding fruit and not computers, and so opened the thread with the image of a red apple in my mind’s eye.
