I thought this tactic was widespread, but according to the RAF pilots in this excellent documentary, very few tipping incidents occurred, especially after a crashed V-1 revealed the Germans had re-engineered them to instantly explode if tipped. Seems many more could have been tipped if the first instance(s) hadn’t made the papers.
