# April 20 - National Stoner Day?

In Hawaii, 4:20 is a good time to be home. With your chocolate. And maybe some pizza. A few cookies, some good ice cream, maybe a handfull of peanuts…

The only thing people have to fear from stoners is for thier snacks.

Since moving, I haven’t seen quite the same “culture” as Hawaii for smoking. Maybe I just don’t know were to look. 😉

I’m 23, most of my friends live here or Santa Cruz. As such, 420 is common knowledge for just about everyone I know. I asked my mom about it (my parents are former stoners) and they had no idea.

At my advanced age (45), even an ancient fossil like me can be “hip” to the latest “cool” slang. Thanks to the Dope! I have known about 4:20 for years, thanks to a thread just like this one on the SDMB years ago. So that when my teenager began dropping 4:20 hints all the time, I knew what she was up to.

The other day we were giving a ride home to someone we met at a poetry jam, and DD said “Tomorrow is 4/20. Four twenty, get it?” Our passenger spoke up, Oh you enjoy 420 too, so do I…
