I’m having a major hassle dealing with the VA right now, and it’s not a big enough hassle (yet) to try and get my congressmen involved, but it’s definitely some surrealist bullshit. The worst thing is that while I’m in a state where I can deal with it, by definition a lot of people who rely on the VA really aren’t. ---

This is a mini-rant in the great scheme of world things, but it’s really fucking pissing me off lately. Why do Christians (okay, _some_ Christians, I guess, before you nitpick that generalization) think that everyone else should live by _their_ beliefs? It seems like I’m seeing this more and more, but it’s probably just that lately I’ve had this sick and twisted self-harming urge to read comments on articles on Facebook regarding things like gays, same-sex marriage, and Bruce Jenner. I need to stop doing that. Also, my roommate is supposedly a Christian, and although he doesn’t even come close to acting in accordance with his own beliefs, he expects others to line up with his beliefs. If he sees someone mowing their yard on a Sunday, he bitches about how they shouldn’t be doing that on the Lord’s day- to me, not to them. I keep my mouth shut to keep the peace, but I want to scream, “Why would they live their lives according to what YOU believe??” Hear ye, hear ye, all Christians that do this: Live by your own beliefs, that’s fine, whatever. But not everyone else in the world is Christian, or even if they are, they may not be your particular brand, and everyone has the right to live how they want to live, as long as what they are doing is legal and hurts no one else. Please shut the fuck up! There, I’m pretty sure that’s going to help. 🆒 ---

A small gaming rant: I understand people are upset that Steam has added paid mods to the workshop. That’s fine. Make all the stupid protest mods you want. However, it really grinds my gears when people remove their mods from the workshop in protest, especially when they’re mods I’ve been playing with for a while and all of a sudden I’m getting error messages when the updater can’t find the mod and I have to hunt down which one has disappeared. Fortunately the ones that have vanished so far are just minor ones, but if any of my texture mods go I will be out for blood. Please note I am not angry at \*Steam \*for this, I am angry at the \*modders \*who have their knickers in a twist. Taking your toys and going home with no notice is interfering with my relaxation time and that does not make for a happy kitty. ---

A relative started a gofundme account to pay his rent because he’s supposed to be flat broke after a series of poor fiscal decisions. He’s now posting pictures from the vacation that he conned someone else into paying for because he’s so stressed. Ew. ---

A dog page that I follow on Facebook posted a picture of a dog. It sounds like she’s a nice dog, but the caption posted with the picture kind of weirds me out - “Her mom couldn’t ask for a better four legged daughter around her human children.” Ew. ---

WRT the part I emphasized, unless he’s on some kind of hair-trigger, I can’t see how it would be particularly peace-destroying for you to point out that if he sincerely believed that about the Sabbath, he would be telling the neighbor instead of you. If pointing that out WOULD trigger an episode of unpleasant reaction from him, I suggest that you look into changing roommates ASAP, for your own safety. ---

Oh, no, he’s not violent or anything towards me. When I disagree with him about anything else, I’m quick to voice my opinion and how. But I’ve learned not to get into it with him on religion or politics. Not because I’m scared of him, just because it takes us down a road I don’t care to go down. He’s an old, Southern, conservative religious man and I’m a younger, atheist, liberal “northerner” woman. But we see eye to eye on a surprising amount of other subjects, so as long as we avoid religion and politics, it’s great. I still rant in my head, though. ---

Dear Creatures of the T: PLEASE SHAMBLE FASTER. You, Traveler With A Million Suitcases, and you, Oldster With Cane, you are good. While you are an obstruction, you are also attempting to maneuver yourselves to let people past, albeit with uneven success. I give you credit for the attempt. You, Lady Shuffling With Hand On Wall. You are clearly dealing with a thing there, and you are out of the flow of traffic. I have no beef with you, and I wish you well in coping with whatever has you so unsteady on your feet. But YOU. Energetic Youths In The Middle Of The Passageway. You, the ones meandering along three abreast, bouncing off one another like the balls on a Newton’s cradle while you attempt to show one another prank videos on your smartphone screens. You, with a small crowd gathering behind you, as none of us can predict your strange teenage Brownian motion well enough to slip between you. FUCKING STOP THAT. I realize that this is probably your day off, and you have nowhere else to be. I am happy for you! Our society does not relax and enjoy itself enough. But all I _do_ have somewhere else to be, and I just want to change for Red so I can get to work on time. Please pick just _one_ of the walls of this pedestrian bridge to shove one another playfully into, so that I can walk past you and board the train that is pulling into the station. Also you might want to bear in mind that I am a circus hooper, sometimes I come down here with big sturdy four-foot dance hoops slung over my shoulder, and those things hurt like a bitch when you run into them going at full speed.
