…May unrelenting fucking torrential downpours. With no end it sight. I posted much the same thing last year, as this cold and wet and dreary weather threatened to ruin my Memorial Day vacation. Luckily, it cleared up just as we got there, so no worries. But no such guarantee this year. And this time it’s not just my selfish reasons why I hate this. People are being flooded out. Not to minimize the poor people of New Orleans, who have had it many many many times worse, but sheesh! Streets have become rivers, basements have become lakes, and things are a tad damp on the shores of Merrimac fucking Ocean. ENOUGH ALREADY! ---

Yeah, this better clear up by Memorial Day. My roommates, a friend of ours and I are going camping in western Mass. Right next to a little river, no less. Hmm, p’raps we out to make back-up plans. On the other hand, I’m tired of people complaining about it being cold and rainy. Actually, no, that I can understand. I’m tired of people who complain about it being cold and rainy and finish with “Whatever happened to Spring?” or “When will Spring get here?” This IS Spring! This is what a northern Spring looks like! Yes, it’s “only” 50 degrees, but that’s 20 degrees warmer than it was a month or two ago. You want warm and sunny, you’re looking for summer. And let me tell you, I can’t WAIT to hear you start bitching about how hot it is. ---

Well, it’s hosepipe bans and the threat of standpipes here after a dry winter. Not because of climate change, but because the water companies can’t be bothered to plug their leaks (30%+!) and haven’t provided for the increasing population of southern England by putting in pipes to where there is water. ---
