CBS pre-empted the last 5 minutes of CSI: NY to tell me this in a Special Report at 10:55. Fuckers. They couldn’t wait **5 fucking minutes** for the regular news at 11:00?? ---

Fox broke into the _Friends_ rerun at about 11:15pm: my first thought on seeing the “special report” graphic was along the lines of “what, did Joe Gibbs sprain his pinky or something? why, I remember back in the day when a ‘special report’ _meant_ something…like someone _died_ or something…” and then they flashed the “Arafat dead at 75” title. :smack: I absolutely agree, though, that CBS are bastards for not waiting 5 damn minutes so that show could finish! ---

Arafat is dead, and I don’t want to imagine the monster who will succeed him. Arafat was the devil we knew, is what it all comes down to. Even if you hated him, you knew what he was capable of and what he wasn’t. He didn’t, for example, buy nukes to put in his car bombs. The next guy, for all we know, could do just that. The Middle East is quickly falling apart. ---
