You know, I read most of the comments in this thread earlier and I expected some kind of heinous beating. After watching the video, I don’t have any feeling of outrage. My family is straight out of Africa. I’ve gotten, and seen, much worse beatings than that. ---

Before **CitizenPained** comes in here with her “it’s all culturally relative!” screeds, I will say that he was a victim of child abuse as defined by our culture. It is perhaps true that other cultures might not consider this abuse. However, that point is irrelevant since unless **OMG** is not FROM our culture, it IS child abuse. ---

I think the worse I ever saw was the spanking/beating/whatever you want to call it my cousin got when he stole and went joyriding in a car. My uncle beat him so bad he had welts on his body and my grandmother had to give him a bath in saltwater and bleach. Yes, yes. Child-abuse and whatnot. I disagree and I don’t really feel like going there, so whatever. All I was saying is that I was kind of expecting worse from the outrage. I guess you could argue she shouldn’t have been beaten for what she was, but as to the actual beating? I’m not going to lie.
