I am willing to believe that **some** of the Church officials who tried to hush up sexual abuse incidents sincerely believed that they were doing what was best for the victims. However, my empathy about well-intentioned bad decisions completely stops functioning in the case of Church officials who facilitated or condoned known abusers’ obtaining access to other children.
