# Are all of our troops still in Iraq?

There are approximately 148,000 US troops in Iraq. Tommy Franks said yesterday that roughly 140,000 troops have returned from the Persian Gulf since the end of the war.

I suspect that significant numbers still remain in areas such as Kuwait, Qatar, and elsewhere, but I can’t find a cite.

i’m not sure whether they are US troops who have already been in the gulf or whether they are fresh troops about to be sent out, but a chunk of them are currently in Canada being trained by the Brits in how to Peacekeep.
