'Round here (Central PA) they’re calling for 6-12 inches, which sucks royal for me because tomorrow I go to school all day, show up for work at 6 pm, work all night, and if my relief doesn’t show up I have to pull another 12 hours, meaning I miss school (if it’s not already cancelled) and I don’t get my one hour of sleep Tuesday morning. This has the potential to be an excruciatingly long few days. I’m not sure if this is going further north, but if it does batten down the hatches because this is looking nasty on the radar. ---

I had no idea until you just posted this. I am sick of this crap. I have an SUV and I am a great snow driver but that doesn’t mean that I like one second of it. I want to move to a tropical climate where man was built to live. ---

I’ve lived here in New England all my life, and I don’t mind winter or snow… but come late February and I’m getting mighty sick of it. NWS is guessing 6 to 12 for us, too. ---

I love snow and I hope we get lots of it. We haven’t had nearly enough snow this year. It should start snowing here at any time, so maybe it’ll start while I’m on my way to work. Snow always looks so pretty. Not like the stupid rain we’ve been having. ---

I’m in Northern Michigan and they’ve been predicting 1-2’ of snow for sometime today. I say bring it on. I just put new tires on my truck and I’ve been looking for a chance to try them out. ---

If by “ready for” you mean “ignoring completely until such point as I have to step out the door because I am SO sick of winter”, then I guess I’m ready. Bleh. Hopefully it’ll all just magically miss Boston or something. ---

My students are psyched & I’m…ehh. I mean, it’ll have to be pretty bad for them to cancel school; to my knowledge, only one “wiggle room” day was put in the calendar & we’ve used it. If we take another, it’ll be sliced off Easter or Passover, I think. Hence, since I know the storm’s not going to miraculously miss us (in fact, we’re expecting 6" - 12"), I hope we get enough to close school so I won’t have to deal with the crap. ---

Well, we’ve gotten a couple of big snowfalls this season, so 6-12 doesn’t sound very intimidating. But my impression is that it’s going to be wet and heavy, so it should be more annoying than anything else. It’s March (more-or-less), so any snow is going to melt fast anyways. I am getting a surprising amount of use out of the snowblower this year. ---

My parents are in Maryland right now, expected to fly home tomorrow. Even in the best of weather my mom is not a great airplane passenger. Add to the mix an aunt who is, shall we say, ‘boisterous’ sitting next to her on the flight and I know my mom will be praying to any god that will listen that they can make it home tomorrow. In one piece. Maybe she’ll pray to the gods of Ernest & Julio Gallo or Jack Daniels. Then everything will be just fine. ---

I’ve got a Weather Channel alert for 8-14 inches … but it hasn’t started yet. I’m hoping I can leave work early–but they never let us. Last Monday I was one of the few people who bothered to come into the office. I’m hoping I can at least sleep late and take a few hours off tomorrow. Of course, taking the whole day would be even better. 🙂 ---

10-20 cm. up here (roughly, 4 to 8 inches… that’s all? Really?) forecast for Toronto this afternoon and evening. This, mind you, comes just in the nick of time for an early shift I have tomorrow.
