Yes, there’s no money and fame to be achieved in being a contrarian in today’s media environment. That’d be insane. The Daily Show played a clip of Hannity, by the way, and he adopted the standard formulation: Peterson was wrong, but corporal punishment is fine.

I think you could make a pretty good argument for that.
I was saying jtur88’s claim that nobody would dare defend Peterson is crazy. Look around the internet and you’ll find people who insist on being contrarians on every conceivable issue no matter how obscure or awful or crazy. It’s pretty much the same on TV: if 90% of people agree on something, someone will want to market to the other 10%. More than a few people said Ray Rice’s actions might’ve been justified, so why not Adrian Peterson?
