LOL, **AHunter3** , you just reminded me of the French phrase _pieds nus_. David Sedaris could use this to make a funny bit about speaking bad French: “I walk myself with the feet nude.”

That’s really cool, **Stranger**. Not only do you persist to live in Pasadena, but you quote from Ecclesiastes. My proverbial hat is off to you (actuallly, it’s not proverbial; it’s from the USS Midway).

But speaking of “bare-footed,” Shakira’s mid 90s CD “Pies descalzados” is one of the greatest CDs of the decade. Her next CD was pretty good, too. But after that, she dyed her hair blonde and became some kind of a Pespi representitive. Sad.

I once told my dad that living in southern California (L.A.) was like being an intercultural sponge. He, being from a small township in western New Jersey, wanted examples, besides food. I told him that–living in East Hollywood–taking off my shoes while visiting a neighbor was customary, because so many were Thai. He wasn’t convinced. I then told him that gossiping old women who smelled of garlic were just part of the landscape, because so many were Armenian. He still had doubts. Then I said: “Was there ever a birthday of mine where we didn’t have a piñata?” He had to say “No.” No further questions.

This is sincere, **Stranger**. I’m not being sarcastic at all.
