IANAModerator, but my guess would be that it’s rjung’s sig, and rjung is contributing to the thread and to the board as a whole. If rjung were going around slapping up posts that said “Hey! Check out the website in my sig!” and nothing else, then that would be spam, and the mods would take action. (Tremble at their wrath!) But rjung doesn’t do that kind of thing, so the link is allowed to pass.
So that’s my guess, johndcal. Who knows? Perhaps this information will help you evolve, from out of the primordial spam, into a valued contributor. That would be a good thing.

Steve, exactly the opposite: just because rjung posts a few lines, doesn’t justify him advertising a completely irrelevant money-making business. This is SPAM.

More to the point, johndcal, why are you hijacking your own thread for an issue that is more appropriately taken directly to the poster and/or to the moderators via e-mail, rather than being fought in public?
The actual definition of enlightenment may be whatever you wish it to be. The point of my statement is that there have been no recent radical changes within Christianity. The perceived changes noted by the OP are not some recent activity, (although one sect within Christianity may have recently “seen the light” on one particular issue or another). Therefore, there is no reason to posit some new evolutionary development.
